JACVault vs. Teal
JACVault turns one profile into a complete application for each posting — a tailored resume and cover letter, with the fit checked before you send. Teal is a strong job-search CRM, and this page is honest about where it wins. But if your bottleneck is producing tailored applications at volume, this is the difference that matters.
Where we do something else
One profile with your real history, and a complete application per posting out of it — a tailored resume and a cover letter, as one unit, with a Fit Score before you send and a tracker that keeps the stage current. We charge per complete application, not per document.
- The cover letter is not an afterthought Every application is a resume and a matching cover letter for that posting, written from the same profile — because most hiring managers still read them.
- One profile, not one resume per version You maintain your history once. Each posting gets its own tailored output, so there is no folder of near-identical files to keep in sync.
- Interview practice with a debrief A turn-based simulation, then a written debrief that rates each answer — nobody interrupts you mid-answer. Their interview feature is tracking, not practice.
- Pricing in the unit you care about Hard caps of 10, 30 or 60 complete applications a month, stated up front, in monthly billing rather than a weekly cycle.

Get early accessWhere Teal is genuinely better
Teal: organise the search. A job-search CRM first — bookmark postings from across the web, track every application and contact, and build resumes against them with keyword matching. Its free tier keeps unlimited tracking, and the paid tier lifts the caps on templates, analysis and AI.
- A genuinely usable free tier Unlimited job tracking without paying is a real offer, and for a lot of searches it is enough. Ours stops at two complete applications, lifetime.
- Breadth of libraries and content Thousands of resume and cover-letter examples, template libraries, a job board and a large career blog. We have none of that, and are not planning it.
- Broad board coverage in the extension Their extension saves postings, contacts and companies across dozens of job boards. Ours captures a posting to build an application from it — a narrower job.
- A networking CRM Contacts and companies as first-class objects. Our tracker is about applications, not relationships.
Our recommendation
the bottleneck is producing tailored applications at volume — resume plus cover letter per posting — and you want the fit checked before you send.
you want a free, unlimited place to organise a long search, you already have a resume you like, and you write your own cover letters.

Questions we get about this comparison
Is Teal free?
It has a free tier that includes unlimited job tracking and unlimited resumes, with caps on templates, keyword matching and AI credits. Teal+ is billed in 7-, 30- or 90-day periods; the current prices are in the table above with the date we checked them.
Can I use both?
Yes, and some people should. Track in Teal, produce the applications here — nothing about either product prevents it. If that feels like one tool too many, pick based on which half of the problem is actually hurting.
Why is JACVault more expensive?
Because a complete application costs real money to produce: two tailored documents per posting, checked against it. We are priced against what a resume writer or a career coach charges for a single document or hour, not against a template tool.
Do you have their content libraries?
No. No example database, no job board, no synonym library. We build applications from your profile and publish a small set of guides — that is the whole surface.
